1968 DATSUM 1600 PL311 Sports Car /original /actual mileage/great project

This is a super little Datsun 1600 that a friend picked up locally here from a retired schoolteacher. He has owned the car since 1970 or so and it has never been touched, other than items like the roof etc. The rood was new but as you can see, it has a split at the back brace. The seats are original and in pretty good condition. The car is totally original, and has all the parts with it as far as we can tell. Even the trunk rack. and most of the emblems. My friend wanted to restore it but is too much into American, so he asked me to list it on here.There is some rust visible on the fenders, and some rust in the floorboards but nothing that can't be repaired without major replacements. The motor is free and was running a few years ago, but we did not try to crank it. I would expect the gas tank needs to be replaced or cleaned and coated. I have tried to show as much detail in the photos as possible but will be glad to answer any questions you may have about this little beauty. Note: This is not a Fairlady, but it is a creampuff! :) I don;t think you will find a project car much better than this one, the mileage is low and correct. 36074 and that is thirty six thousand and seventy four original miles!
